What is a finesse shot?

A finesse shot in soccer is a technique used by players to curve or bend the ball around a defender or goalkeeper and into the goal. It involves striking the ball with the side of the foot, using finesse and precision rather than power.

The key to a successful finesse shot is to make contact with the ball towards the instep, or inside, of the foot and use the inside of the foot to curl the ball towards the desired direction. This is usually done when the player is closer to the goal and has a narrow angle to shoot from.

Finesse shots are often used in situations where a powerful shot would be blocked by defenders or the goalkeeper, giving the attacker a better chance of scoring. They require great technique and skill to execute properly, but can be very effective in scoring goals.
